User Defined Functions

Our Excel User Defined Functions development services help companies create and deploy custom Excel functions that are used in their workbooks.

Excel's User Defined Functions feature leverages the power of Visual Basic for Applications to enable you to create custom Excel formulas that work in your cells.  However, writing User Defined Functions requires knowledge of programming concepts and experience with Microsoft's Visual Basic for Applications.  That is where we can help.  Let's say for example that you wish that Microsoft would have had the foresight to create a commission function for you, so that you could automate your commission calculations.  Although Microsoft did not create an =commission() function for you, they did provide the ability to create custom functions.  So, our team could write an =commission(region, sales, base) function for you that computes the commission given the reps region, sales, and base.

If you think your workbooks could benefit from User Defined Functions, but need assistance, our team is here to help.  If you are just looking for more information, please feel free to check out the article we wrote that was published in the Journal of Accountancy called Add Muscle to Excel.
