Welcome Excel Fans!!

Welcome everyone to the Excel Fans forum!  I've been wanting to do this for years, and have finally made the time to do it. 

About this forum

This forum is built for Excel fans and moderated by Excel fans.  We'll try to answer all of your Excel questions in a reasonably timely manner.  My goals for this forum are to help the person submitting the post as well as to document the answer so that together we provide a valuable resource for other Excel fans.

Some etiquette

Let's try to build a professional community, and a reusable resource for future Excel fans.  Keep in mind that your posts will be indexed by Google for a long time, and thus, try to phrase your posts in a courteous and articulate manner.

Also, please include the version of Excel you are using in your post.

Macros

This forum is designed to be a free resource to answer Excel questions.  If you are asking to have a custom macro built, the way we handle custom macro requests is this.  If we have already built something that will achieve your goal, we share that macro at no cost.  If however, we need to build something, then we ask you to "sponsor" it.  That means, we ask you to pay for its development, and then we post it to the Free Tools section for download by anyone.

A little about me

I've been a huge fan of electronic spreadsheet programs, all the way back to Multiplan for the Macintosh.  Excel has been a trusty and reliable companion for me through school, through college, and on into my career at AA LLP and Gateway and forward.  Now, I try to show others how to more fully use Excel to automate their job tasks.  It has saved my countless hours of manual labor over the years, and this forum is yet another way I try to spread the word about the powers of this truly amazing application.
