The next major release of the famous Firefox web browser is now available for free download. If you have not tried using Firefox instead of Microsoft Internet Explorer, you will love it. The primary reason I made the switch is due to tabbed browsing. If you ever have multiple web sites opened at one time, tabbed browsing will change your web experience. Although there are many reasons to consider using Firefox as your primary browser, the feature that pulled me in is tabbed browsing. It allows you to have multiple web sites open inside one browser window, organized by tab. This eliminates the need to have many Internet Explorer windows opened at once.
See the screenshot below.
Also, if there are any websites that you frequent that require Internet Explorer, you can simply install the Firefox extension called IETab, which opens a new Internet Explorer window in a Firefox tab.
One additional Firefox Extension I like is the Google Send to Phone, which allows me to select any text in any website and click the Send to Phone Button in the upper right of my browser to send that data to my phone via textmessage.
To download your free Firefox Browser, simply go to http://getfirefox.com And remember, to open a url in a new tab, simply enter the url in the Address bar, and instead of pressing the Enter key on your keyboard, hold down the Alt key and press the Enter key. Then, the new url will open in a new tab! It is a beautiful thing!
